Few aspects of vehicle servicing are more misunderstood than Wheel Alignments. Good news – we are acknowledged experts.
Getting your wheels pointing the right way, sloping in/out the right amount, and the suspension struts tilted the correct amount forward are all critical to the vehicle driving properly. And without correct alignment, tyre wear can be horrendous. A top quality alignment soon pays for itself by way of the extra tyre life it can deliver.
A top wheel alignment technician doesn’t just paint by numbers. The computerised tools get the job only so far. The finishing requires skill and experience to get a vehicle not only within factory spec but also driving well, and that’s the difference between a cheap-price job and the real thing. We regularly receive comments of gratitude for the results we deliver customers.
Balancing
Frequently people come to us wanting a wheel alignment but, as we talk the situation through, we sometimes find that the key issue is actually wheels out of balance. Our computerised machinery balances to within +/- 2.5 grams and that is more than good enough to satisfy the most decerning of motorists!
Rotation
Again, this is a service that more than pays for itself. The typical Auckland motorist covers around 15,000 km per year and that is generally an ideal interval at which to get tyres rotated to even out the wear. Given the cost of good rubber these days, stretching tyre life out an extra 10-15,000 km is well worth it. And that’s a conservative estimate, based on what we see on customers’ cars.
