Our process involves removing the tyre from the wheel and examining both the inside and outside surfaces. We check the size, location, angle of entry, and any hidden internal damage. Think of it as a detective investigation, solving puncture mysteries while saving you money.

No two punctures are the same. A clean nail in the tread is very different from a screw in the tread, a sidewall tear or a tyre that’s been driven flat. Industry-Standard Puncture Repairs

If we can determine that your puncture can be properly and safely repaired, we use the gold standard method where feasible – a combination patch and plug repair that seals the puncture from both inside and outside.  It’s like a mushroom, pushed into the puncture from the inside of the tyre and with its stem poking through to the outside (and cut off to length).

This isn’t the quick and nasty plug-only repair that some shops do while you wait. We’re talking about a proper repair that involves removing the tyre, cleaning and preparing the puncture area with special solvents, and applying a permanent patch-plug combination that creates an airtight seal. The air pressure inside the tyre continually pushes the mushroom patch onto the surface of the tyre, making it near impossible for air to leak out through the puncture.

Our company use only premium (generally US-based) repair materials from reputable suppliers, not the cheap knock-off patches that some shops use to cut costs.

For larger injuries to truck tyres we often have to use seriously large patches.  THere are used where the hole in the tyre is just too big for a mushroom stem to fill the gap.  And truck punctures frequently involve incursions from chuncks of steel or rocks that take things to the next level.  It takes experience to know when to repair and when to admit it’s an end-of-use event for the tyre.  Safety comes first but if it can be rescued safely, we’ll do everything possible to save you the expense of a new tyre.

The result is a repair that’s actually stronger than the surrounding tyre material and will last the entire life of your tyre.
